Now RTO work can be done sitting at home
Now you will not have to make rounds of offices for 58 services related to RTO. In fact, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has issued a notification to make these 58 services completely online. According to the ministry, all these services are focused on the citizens. And with the help of Aadhaar verification, the benefit of these services can be found. The ministry has said that with this step, people will not need to go to the RTO office for these services. The ministry has said that this step has been taken with the goal of making governance and living conditions of the people easier.
What services will be available online (click for full list)
- Application for Learner License and Duplicate Learner License
- Change in Address, Name, Photograph in Learner’s License
- Application for duplicate driving license
- Change of information like name, address etc. in driving license
- Application for provisional registration of motor vehicle
- permit related services
- Issue of duplicate fitness certificate
Why are services made online?
According to the ministry, the objective of making all these services online is to reduce the need to reach the office and meet in person, saving the time required by the people and reducing the compliance burden on them. According to the ministry, this will significantly reduce the number of people reaching the RTO, which will lead to more efficiency in the work of the employees. The ministry has written in its release that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has issued SO 4353 (E) on 16 September 2022, through which a total of 58 citizens related to driving license, conductor license, vehicle registration, permit, transfer of ownership etc. -The benefits of centric services can now be availed completely online, eliminating the need to visit RTOs.
