Somnath Chatterjee’s name was also mentioned in the letter given to the President, but Somnath Chatterjee clearly said that the post of Lok Sabha Speaker is above any party. The next day the CPI showed him the way out of the party but he remained the Speaker of the Lok Sabha. After the end of his term, in the year 2009, he announced his retirement from politics. Then his age was 79 years. Had been MP 10 times. Harivansh is now 66 years old. He is healthy and there is a fixed legal process to remove him from the post he is currently holding.
JDU will take action against Harivansh!
Even if JDU takes action against him, he will remain on his post. Discussions about his future had also arisen last year, when Nitish Kumar broke ties with the NDA. At that time it was said that Harivansh could resign but nothing like this happened. Whatever action JDU takes against him after joining the program of the new Parliament House, it will be considered that he did so under the spirit of revenge. Harivansh will remain the Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha even then. Because the party can expel them to the maximum. JD-U cannot do anything as Deputy Chairman or Rajya Sabha member at present.
PM Modi has praised Harivansh
Harivansh is popular as the Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha. He has the ability to make even an enemy a friend. His performance in the House many times is an example of this. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised him many times in the open. In such a situation, it is not correct to believe that Harivansh is on the path of Somnath Chatterjee. They will still be active. The legal position is that a motion has to be brought in the Rajya Sabha to remove him from the post of Deputy Chairman. Any party can easily do this work, JDU too. But the decision will be by vote. If there are more votes in his favor then he cannot be removed.
