Mughal Emperor Akbar.
The Mughal Empire was expanding. Malwa in the east, Mughalia flag was flying till Gondwana in the south. Only Mewar was left, the boiling blood of Rajputs and Akbar had heard so many stories of their bravery that he himself could not gather courage. Eventually Akbar turned towards Mewar, Amer’s ruler Bharmal Bihari Mal accepted the submission of the Mughal Sultanate and changed friendship into kinship.
It is said that Jahangir was born from a Rajput princess, the daughter of Bihari Mal. Now there was no obstacle in the way of Mewar. Except Jaimal and Patta. Those brave brave Rajputs whose bravery even Akbar could not live without being impressed.
When Akbar conquered Mewar
In 1567, Akbir had reached outside the Mewar fort. He had sealed all the roads to the fort. This was the period when Mewar was ruled by Raja Udai Singh II. Akbar struggled for five months, then the great war broke out, it was the responsibility of Senapati Jaimal and Patta to stop the Mughal army. Maharaja Udai Singh handed over the fort to these generals and left for a safe place at the behest of his feudatories.

Brave Rajputs attacked the enemy like hungry lions
The Mughal army was in thousands, the Rajput soldiers were few, but their hero Jaimal Rathore and Patta wearing saffron attacked the Mughal soldiers like cities. It is said that at that time the number of Rajput soldiers was very less as compared to the Mughal soldiers. Even then the Rajput soldiers had released the sixes of the enemy. However, due to the high numbers, the Mughal soldiers were overwhelmed and Akbar was captured on the Mewar fort.
Rajput women were burnt in the fire of Jauhar
Akbar’s victory in Mewar had become his biggest humiliation. According to the book History of Mughal India, this was the only war which was the only blot on the name of Akbar. It is said that it was only after this war that Akbar went to the dargah of Sheikh Salim Chishti, who told Akbar that he has become a ruler, but he will be successful only if he treats his wife as his child.
Akbar had made the idols of Jaimal and Patta
The war of Mewar remained fresh in Akbar’s mind for a long time. He could never forget it. Although many Rajput rulers were frightened by the victory of Mewar and accepted the subordination of Akbar. Akbar was greatly influenced by Jaimal and Patta. He used to tell stories of his bravery even in his court. It is said that Akbar had also made statues of Jaimal and Patta sitting on elephants at the gate of Agra Fort, so that their bravery could be given due respect.
