Austria, Germany, Hungary and Osmania were called central powers while Serbia, Britain, Russia, France and Italy were recognized as friendly countries. The war later became more chaotic when Germany attacked neutral Luxembourg and Belgium. Then Britain declared war against Germany.

India and Britain were at loggerheads
At that time, India was fighting on behalf of Britain, because at that time India was ruled by Britain. After the end of the war, Britain awarded Britain’s highest medal, the Victoria Cross, to two soldiers of the Garhwal Rifles. 9200 soldiers were given gallantry medals. In honor of these soldiers, the foundation of India Gate was laid in Delhi in the year 1921, and the bunker was completed in the year 1931.
