Another name in this episode is journalist Jarnail Singh, who died last year due to COVID. Jarnail first came into the limelight in 2009 when he threw a shoe at the then Union Home Minister P Chidambaram. He did this for his alleged failure to nab the perpetrators of the 1984 riots. After joining the Aam Aadmi Party, he also contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from West Delhi, but lost. After this, the party had fielded him from Rajouri Garden in the 2015 assembly elections. Due to his popularity, he defeated the famous leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa by 10 thousand votes. In 2020, he was suspended by the party for posting on Facebook about Hindu gods and goddesses. He passed away in 2021.
