Partition Horror and Memorial Day
The partition of India was no less than a threat to the country. The country is still facing the pain of this. The British colonial rule recognized Pakistan as a Muslim country after the partition of India in 1947. Lakhs of people were displaced and several lakhs lost their lives due to the rampant riots.
Earlier, lakhs of Indians had also made sacrifices for independence from British rule. With the independence of India on the midnight of 14 August 1947, the country was also partitioned and Pakistan came into existence. Before partition, there was no trace of Pakistan anywhere. The British were going, but the result of their conspiracy was that another country was created by dividing India.
that night can never be forgotten
If we remember the incident of partition, then the day of 14 August 1947 is a deep wound in history for India. That wound is still fresh and not healed. This is the date when the country was partitioned and Pakistan became a separate country. India got independence from the British only on the condition of partition.
The Indo-Pak partition split the Indian sub-continent into two pieces. Pakistan (East and West Pakistan) on both sides and India in the middle. Bengal was also affected by this partition. The part of West Bengal remained in India and the rest East Pakistan. East Pakistan was made an independent nation by India in 1971 as Bangladesh.
Sharing of hearts and feelings too
The country was partitioned but not peacefully. This historical date saw many bloody scenes. The Partition of India became a document of bloody events that always had to be reversed. As soon as the line of partition was drawn between the two countries, millions of people became homeless and homeless in their own country overnight. Lakhs of people were forced to go from this side to that side even without wanting on the basis of religion.
Riots broke out, massacres took place in this exchange. Of those who survived, the lives of millions were ruined. This incident of Indo-Pak partition turned into the biggest tragedy of the century. It was not only the division of the geographical boundary of a country but also the division of the hearts and feelings of the people. This pain of partition keeps getting green again and again. Partition Horror Memorial Day is a day to remember this pain.
