Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday (March 22) 6G Inaugurated the vision document and launched the 6G R&D test bed just six months after the 5G rollout.Prime Minister Modi Said, ‘Just six months after the launch of 5G in the country, today we are talking about 6G. This shows the confidence of India. today we Vision Have brought documents. This will become a big base for the rollout of 6G.
Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and Innovation Centre, which has been set up at the Center for Development of Telemax (C-DoT) campus. Funding for this will be completely done by India only.
5G to 6G
In the vision document issued by the Department of Telecommunications, it was said that 5G technology has been claimed to have a speed of 40 to 1100 Mbps, with the ability to reach a maximum speed of 10,000 Mbps. At the same time, 6G technology will also get ultra-low latency with one terabit per second speed, which is a thousand times more than the top speed of 5G. Talking about the success story of telecom in the country, Prime Minister Modi said that in 2014 The number of internet users was 25 crores in 1950, which has increased to 85 crores today.
Compared to 3G and 4G, 5G has low latency, which has improved the user experience in different technical areas. Low latency refers to the ability to process a large amount of data messages with very little delay and this rapidly increasing processing speed can be used in different ways for our rapidly developing country. PM Modi further said in his speech, ‘The effect of all this is that our digital economy is growing two and a half times faster than the overall economy of the country.’
5G expansion in 125 cities
The thing to note is that even 5G is not working equally in the country. PM Modi said that India is one of the fastest countries to start 5G mobile technology. He said that within 120 days of the launch of 5G, the services were expanded to 125 cities.
He said, ‘India will set up 100 new 5G labs in the coming days. These labs will help in developing 5G applications according to the specific needs of the country. The ‘India 6G’ vision document unveiled by PM Modi is now the next step in our technological progress. It has been prepared by Technology Innovation Group on 6G. This group was formed during November 2021 with the aim of preparing a roadmap and action plan for 6G in the country, which includes members from various ministries / departments, research and development institutions, academia, standardization bodies, telecom service providers and industry.
Is implementation possible in India?
Even though 5G technology has not yet reached the entire country, but according to PM Modi, there is every hope of 6G rollout in the next few years. This is such a plan, which can be realized by working continuously. PM Modi said that the country has two major powers to make this plan a reality. Their names are ‘Trust and Scale’.
PM Modi said, ‘Without trust and scale, we cannot take technology to every nook and corner. I would say that faith is a prefix to current technology. With 100 crore mobile phones, India is the world’s largest technology-enabled democracy. Cheap smartphones and cheap data have transformed India.
this decade india’s tech ed
Calling upon technocrats and entrepreneurs to step into this field, Prime Minister Modi said, ‘I am giving a challenge to the intellectuals of this field that before October, we should do something which is most relevant to the poorest of the poor country. . This decade is India’s ‘Tech-Ed’. India’s telecom and digital model is smooth, secure and transparent. At the same time, all the friendly countries of South Asia can take advantage of this.
Looking at things in a practical and realistic light, the government needs to translate its vision of technological dominance into concrete policy regulations and investments to make its dreams come true. The advancement of the national tool in some cities requires impactful research and applications to scale up a 6G project from just a prototype.
The sixth generation (6G) wireless communication network will also provide services and applications through the Internet of Things (IoT). For this, innovation in the already existing technology will have to be done much more than before. The faster artificial intelligence is progressing, the faster it is building its base. In such a situation, there is a need to make 6G server keeping this development in mind.
The challenge of pushing the limits of technology
It is also essential to push the limits of semiconductor technologies for optimal operation within the sub-THZ band. The high peak data rates associated with the use of 6G also require state-of-the-art receiver design and architecture. If India is to realize its desire to achieve a leadership position in 6G, it needs to build on high-quality intellectual property and research and development. Will also have to increase significantly. Not only hardware, but software and base technologies also need to be developed in-house, which is sorely lacking in our country.
If we want to convert the 6G plan into reality, then it will require investment in its Research Institutions and Technological Centers in public and private sectors.
