H3N2 Virus: influenza Of H3N2 virus Cases are increasing rapidly in the country. Cases of this virus are coming from Delhi-NCR to Maharashtra and South India. According to government data, five patients have died due to this virus so far. Experts say that due to change in weather and pollution, the H-3N2 virus is spreading. Due to the moisture in the weather, the virus is spreading rapidly.
Doctors say that when there is moisture in the weather, any type of virus gets a chance to flourish. Along with this, increased pollution causes respiratory problems in people. Lungs also become weak due to this. Since H-3N2 is a respiratory infection, it easily attacks weak lungs.
There is a connection between pollution and virus
Dr. Rajat Kumar of Medicine at Safdarjung Hospital explains that due to increase in pollution, the amount of PM (particulate matter) in the air increases. This increases the number of small polluted particles. These particles go into the lungs through breath and weaken the lungs. Influenza virus attacks weak lungs. In such a situation, people who already have a serious illness or have weak lungs are at risk of getting pneumonia. The patient’s condition worsens due to pneumonia.
It is very important to wear mask
Dr. Deepak Suman, Senior Resident at Safdjang Hospital, says that at this time people are advised to leave the house wearing a mask. The mask will protect against both pollution and influenza. Influenza cases are not likely to subside for a few more weeks. In such a situation, people should defend themselves. Especially people who already have heart, kidney or any other serious disease, they need to take special care. Influenza infection in such people can cause severe symptoms. Apart from this, children below five years and pregnant women will also have to take care of themselves.
Get vaccinated with flu vaccine
Dr. Deepak says that the flu vaccine is very effective to prevent influenza. Due to this, the symptoms of the virus do not become serious. People are advised to get the flu vaccine.
