New Delhi: After reaching close to 3 lakh cases of corona in the country, now there is a decline. There has been a decrease of 7 percent today as compared to about 2.50 lakh new cases that came on Monday. According to the data released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, today 2,38,018 new cases have been reported in the country.
With this, the total number of cases of the highly transmissible variant Omicron in the country has reached 8,891.
According to the data released by the ministry, 310 people have died due to this virus in the last 24 hours, out of which 72 people have lost their lives in Kerala alone. The death toll from this epidemic in the country has increased to 4,86,761.
India’s active caseload has crossed 17 lakhs to 17,36,628 at present, the share of active cases in the total cases has increased from four per cent to 4.63%. While the daily positivity rate has reached 14.43%.
With this, 1,58,04,41,770 crore vaccine doses have been given so far under the nationwide vaccination campaign. In the last 24 hours, 79,91,230 people have been vaccinated.
The recovery rate is currently 94.09%. With 1,57,421 being cured in the last 24 hours, the number of people recovering from this epidemic has increased to 3,53,94,882.
According to the data released by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 16,49,143 sample tests have been done for corona virus in India yesterday i.e. on January 16. With this, a total of 70,54,11,425 sample tests have been done till yesterday.
