Medical Superintendent of Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi Dr B L Sherwal Told in a conversation with TV9 Bharatvarsh that influenza has grown considerably. It is very similar to COVID. In such a situation, people need to be alert. He said that keeping this in mind, we have made it necessary for the medical staff in Safdarjung Hospital to wear masks.
Indian Medical Association member Dr. Anil Goyal told in a special conversation with TV9 Bharatvarsh that the cases of fever and cough lasting more than a week are increasing continuously. He said that these cases have been linked to influenza H3N2. This virus is caused by subtypes of influenza A and flu. It is slightly different from normal flu which takes about three weeks to recover.

Dr. Anil Goyal said in a conversation with TV9 Bharatvarsh that there has been a rise in diseases like influenza. He said that all chronic seasonal flu or COVID-19 are not epidemics. The major supporting virus this season is Influenza H3N2. They discovered that almost half of all patients with severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) admitted to hospitals are infected with H3N2.

Dr. SK Chhabra, Head of the Pulmonology Department of Primus Hospital, said that most of the patients are recovering with mild symptoms in five to seven days. By the way, in those who already have some other disease, it is taking a serious form and even admission to the hospital is required. About 92 percent of patients hospitalized with influenza H3N2 reported fever, 86 percent reported cough, 27 percent reported shortness of breath, and 16 percent reported anxiety.
Along with this, if we talk about the patients suffering from H3N2, then 10 percent of the patients have been kept on oxygen support while 7 percent need ICU care. It creates a special danger for most old people, children, pregnant women, asthma, diabetes or other diseases. Due to which it is difficult to breathe, there is a problem of chest pain. Other symptoms of the disease include fever, dry cough, fatigue, headache, sore throat and runny nose.

Dr. BL Sherwal said that with the change of weather in recent times, this disease spreads very fast. The best solution for this is to wear a mask. After COVID, people do not do handwash like before. In such a situation, it is necessary to do handwash. Along with this, he said that the flu vaccine is also very effective.
avoid antibiotic use
A circular has also been issued by the Union Health Ministry in this regard and it has been said that in view of the heat in the recent past, it is necessary to avoid seasonal fever. Meanwhile, the IMA has also issued a warning not to consume antibiotics without doctor’s advice. Along with this, it has also been said that people should avoid taking antibiotics by themselves due to cold, cough and fever.
