New Delhi: The battle against Corona continues. Serum Institute’s Kovovax has been approved for use on children aged 12-17 years amid rising coronavirus cases. The National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization has approved this on Friday. The third vaccine for children has been approved inside the country in a week. Earlier three vaccines were approved on Tuesday. This decision was taken after the results of the trial.
In view of the increasing case of Corona, PM Narendra Modi had a review meeting with the Chief Ministers of all the states on Wednesday. During this, he had talked about emphasizing on the vaccination campaign. In such a situation, after getting the approval of Kovovax, this campaign can be expected to accelerate even more. PM Modi wants that special campaigns should be run in schools for the vaccination of children. He has included this work in the priority list of the government.
The latest cases of corona are being seen more in children. Corona cases are being found in the school. This worries the parents. DCGI also approved the emergency use of three corona vaccines on Tuesday. DCGI had approved Biologics-E Company’s Corbevax for children in the age group of 5 to 12 years and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin for those in the age group of 6 to 12 years.
Significantly, to fight against Corona, the government has announced to apply a booster dose. All people above the age of 18 years can get preconception dose. The campaign has started, but right now people are shying away from applying the vaccine.
