New Delhi: In the midst of increasing cases of new variants of Corona and Corona, Omicron, the country’s health workers, frontline workers and seriously ill senior citizens will start administering a precautionary dose i.e. Precautionary Dosage from today. The government has completed its preparations in all the states. Appointments were also started getting on the Kovin website from Saturday night itself. Along with this, messages are also being sent on the phone from Kovin to those people who have come to take precautionary doses.
Apart from these, if we talk about health workers, then instructions have been issued to all government and private hospitals to vaccinate their health workers. These employees can get the vaccine in their hospitals or they can also get the vaccine by visiting other vaccination centers.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, those who want to get the booster dose i.e. ‘precautionary dose’ of COVID-19 vaccine, they do not need to register afresh on the Kovin portal. According to the Ministry of Health, those wishing to get vaccinated can book a slot by applying online or can take the time to get the vaccine by visiting the vaccination center directly.
Let us tell you that in his address to the country on 25th December, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced to start the campaign to introduce additional doses of vaccine to the frontline workers, health workers and elderly people from January 10.
According to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, only one vaccine is to be administered under this campaign. In this, any kind of mix-match i.e. the application of two different vaccine doses will not be allowed. That is, those who were given the first and second doses of Covaxin will have to take the same dose of Covaxin as a ‘precautionary dose’. Similarly, those who have received the first and second doses of Kovishield will receive the third and additional doses of the vaccine only. In such a situation, keep this thing in mind at the vaccination center.
