In this context, through a letter, the central government has told the state governments that in the second wave, 20-23% of the active cases required hospitalization, compared to only 5-10% of the active cases at present. Only hospitalization is needed. But the situation can change at any time so there is a need to be prepared.
In this letter, the Central Government has made it clear that due to Corona, nothing can be said clearly about the situation in the coming days. The Center asked the states to daily monitor the total number of active cases, home isolation numbers of hospitalized cases, status of oxygen beds, ICU beds and ventilator support cases.
The Center asked the states to ensure that the money going for health facilities is justified and prepare a mechanism for monitoring and initiating action in case of overcharging. Upgradation of COVID Care Center (CCC) beds to Oxygen dedicated beds wherever necessary. Appoint retired medical professionals or MBBS students for the provision of tele-consultation services.
The Health Ministry has issued two separate guidelines on January 8, 2022 and January 9, 2022 to all states regarding access to services of MBBS final year students, interns, senior residents, junior residents as well as B.Sc Nursing students. have been issued.
