New Delhi: Once again, there has been an increase in the cases of corona in the country. After falling on Tuesday, there has been an increase of 18 percent in them today. According to the data released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, today 2,82,970 new cases have been reported in the country.
With this, the total number of cases of the highly transmissible variant Omicron in the country has reached 8,961.
According to the data released by the ministry, 441 people have died due to this virus in the last 24 hours, out of which 122 people have lost their lives in Kerala alone. The death toll from this epidemic in the country has increased to 4,87,202.
India’s active caseload has crossed 18 lakhs to 18,31,000 at present, the share of active cases in the total cases has increased from four per cent to 4.83%. While the daily positivity rate has once again increased to 15.13%.
With this, 1,58,88,47,554 crore vaccine doses have been given so far under the nationwide vaccination campaign. In the last 24 hours, 79,91,230 people have been vaccinated.
The recovery rate is currently 94.09%. With 1,88,157 being cured in the last 24 hours, the number of people recovering from this epidemic has increased to 3,55,83,039.
According to the data released by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 18,69,642 sample tests have been done for corona virus in India yesterday i.e. on January 16. With this, a total of 707,281,067 sample tests have been done till yesterday.
