Virendra Babu: Kannada film producer Virendra Babu has been arrested by the Karnataka Police on 12 August. He is accused of raping a 36-year-old woman and then demanding money, failing which he threatened to leak her video. This case is of the year 2021 but the case has been registered after 2 years i.e. in the year 2023 after which Virendra Babu has reached behind the bars. Offer to mix drugs in coffee
The woman has said that Virendra (Virendra Babu) first befriended him and then invited him to his home. He then offered coffee to the woman in which the intoxicant was mixed. He was not aware of this. Taking advantage of this, the producer sexually assaulted her and also made a video. Later Virendra Babu started blackmailing him and demanded money. The woman demanded Rs 15 lakh by selling her jewelry and threatened to leak the video if the money was not paid.
Robbery at gunpoint (Virendra Babu)
The victim said that Virendra Babu harassed the woman a lot. He called the woman for a meeting on July 30 and then made her sit in a car, threatened her at gunpoint and robbed her of valuables and gold ornaments. At the same time, threatening the victim, left her on the middle of the road.

You may know that after this incident the victim got very scared and went to Kodigehalli police station and lodged a complaint against the accused. Now on the basis of the complaint of the victim, the police have taken further action and arrested Virendra Babu. Also, for further investigation, the police have recovered pen drive, mobile phone and laptop from the accused and have taken him into custody on charges of rape and cheating.
