Smriti Irani told Nilesh Mishra’s show The Slow Interview that when she was selected for Miss India, she needed one lakh rupees to participate. The actress sought a loan from her father for this. His father agreed to give him the money but he also asked for interest. Along with this, he also put a condition that if she could not do this, then he would get her married to the boy of his choice.

Used to get 1500 rupees a month
Smriti Irani worked hard and gave 60 thousand rupees to her father but she could not give more than this. After this, he had to do odd jobs to pay the remaining amount. He did a job in McDonald’s for Rs 1500 a month. He said- I went to McDonald’s and only two slots were left. He said that some light work has to be done. I swept, mopped and did the dishes. I said ok. He gave 1500 rupees. When I asked about my promotion, I was told to work for a month first.

During this, Smriti used to work 6 days a week and in the remaining one day she used to try for auditions. He gave many auditions and then he got a chance to work in the TV serial Tulsi on Star Plus. After the actress had spent a good amount of time in the acting world, she joined politics and is associated with the BJP.
