Inauguration of South India Cultural Center
Former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy inaugurated the South India Cultural Centre, the regional center of the Sangeet Natak Akademi in Hyderabad on Monday. During this, he also laid the foundation stone of Bharat Kala Mandapa Auditorium there. Padma Shri winners from Telugu state were also honored on this occasion.
The foundation stone of Bharat Kala Mandapa Auditorium has been laid to commemorate 100 years of the birth of the late legendary playback singer Ghantasala. He was a singer whose voice is still alive among the people of the country and the world. He also worked for Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi films.

On this occasion, former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made very tireless efforts towards cultural renaissance in India and the country really appreciates him for this. He also stressed the role of mother tongue in protecting our cultural heritage.” He further said, “Through the National Education Policy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is further promoting and preserving our mother tongue.”

During this, G Kishan Reddy said, “In the last 10 years, the Government of India has worked for the conservation, promotion and protection of our heritage. “With Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there has been a big boost for our cultural heritage of the Telugu states.” He further said, “Whether it is the case of Ramappa, which was recognized with the UNESCO World Heritage tag or the restoration of the Kalyana Mandapam in the Thousand Pillar Temple or in the field of intangible cultural heritage, the government has made no efforts in promoting it. Didn’t leave any stone unturned.”
