Los Angeles : The song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from the Indian film ‘RRR’ created history by winning an Oscar in the Best Original Song category at the Academy Awards. The song ‘Natu Natu’ won the title in this category from the song ‘Applause’ from the movie ‘Tell It Like a Woman’, ‘Hold My Hand’ from ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, ‘Lift Me Up’ from ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ and beat “This Is a Life” from “Everything Everywhere All at Once”.
Telugu song ‘Naatu Naatu’ is composed by MM Keeravani and sung by Kaal Bhairav & Rahul Sipligunj. ‘Naatu Naatu’ means ‘to dance’. The song is picturized on actors Ram Charan and Jr NTR, in which their peppy dance moves have also been appreciated. Earlier, ‘Naatu Naatu’ singers Kaal Bhairav and Rahul Sipligunj gave a power-packed performance on this Telugu number at the Oscars ceremony, leaving the audience at the venue in a tizzy. On the presentation, the people sitting in the audience stood up and clapped. The performance of Indian singers at the ceremony was announced by Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone.

The shooting of this song has been done in the premises of Rashtrapati Bhavan in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. The Oscar ceremony is being organized at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood on Monday morning (Indian time). Significantly, the song ‘Jai Ho’ from the UK film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ directed by Danny Boyle is the first Hindi song to win an Academy Award in the Best Original Score and Original Song categories.
