Raigarh / Mumbai. Big news has come out regarding the art director Nitin Desai Suicide Case. In fact, the Raigad police on Friday registered a case against five people, including officials of ECL Finance and Edelweiss Group, for abetting Nitin Desai to commit suicide.
Nitin Desai’s wife Neha Desai has filed a complaint at Khalapur police station. On the basis of which the police have registered an FIR under sections 306 (abetment of suicide) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

In her complaint, Neha Desai has alleged that her husband was facing repeated mental harassment in connection with the loan taken by his company and because of this he committed suicide.
Significantly, the famous art director of the film industry, Nitin Desai, had committed suicide two days back by hanging himself in his own ND studio in Karjat. His body was found hanging from the ceiling fan.

It may be noted that Desai’s company had defaulted on loan repayment of Rs 252 crore to lenders and the Mumbai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal had initiated insolvency proceedings against it. Desai’s company ND Art World Pvt Ltd had borrowed Rs 185 crore through two loans from ECL Finance in 2016 and 2018 and the repayment troubles started in January 2020. ECL Finance is a leading NBFC, promoted by Edelweiss Group. (with agency inputs)
