Mumbai: Popular TV show ‘Mahabharat’ actor Nitish Bharadwaj has separated from his wife IAS officer Smita Gate. In September 2019, both of them decided to separate from each other. Nitish and Smita have twin daughters, who are currently living with their mother in Indore. Nitish, who is separating from his wife, told in his interview that ‘Yes, I have filed for divorce in the family court in Mumbai in September 2019. I don’t want to get into the reasons why we parted ways. The matter is still in court. All I can say on the subject is that sometimes divorce can be more painful than death because you live with a severed core.’
Nitish and Smita have second marriage with each other. Talking about the subject, the actor further told Etimes that ‘I am a firm believer in marriage, but I have been unlucky. Generally, the reasons for the breakdown of marriages can be infinite, sometimes due to a rigid attitude or lack of compassion or it can be the result of egoism and self-centred thinking. But when the family breaks up, the children suffer the most. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the parents to ensure that there is minimum collateral damage to their children.’
