Mumbai: Rajinikanth’s film ‘Lal Salaam’, which has been in discussion for a long time, has been released. In this film, along with the superstar, actors Vishnu Vishal and Vikrant are also in the lead roles. Usually, any Rajinikanth film makes money at the box office on the very first day, but ‘Lal Salaam’ has proved to be a failure in this regard.
According to the report, Lal Salaam has earned Rs 4 crore on its first day. Although these are the estimated figures of the film, it is clear that Rajinikanth’s film has not got the same opening as ‘Jailor’. If reports are to be believed, due to Rajinikanth’s cameo role in the film, the expectations from this film were not that much but they were not that low either. Considering Rajinikanth’s fan following, it was expected that this film could take an opening of Rs 15 to 20 crores, but it did not happen.
If reports are to be believed, the first day first show of Lal Salaam in Telugu language has been cancelled. It is being told that due to low viewership of ‘Lal Salaam’, the first show of the first day was canceled in many theaters in the Telugu speaking region. While viewers who had booked tickets online have already been refunded by the ticketing platform, the future of further shows of the film remains in limbo.
It is noteworthy that Rajinikanth has a cameo role in ‘Lal Salaam’, in which he is playing the role of Mumbai underworld don named Moideen Bhai. The film’s soundtrack is composed by AR Rahman, while leading Tamil production house Lyca Productions has largely financed the project. Talking about the film, it is being said that Rajinikanth will have a 30 to 40 minute cameo in ‘Lal Salaam’, made with a budget of Rs 50 crore. Thalaivaa has charged up to Rs 40 crore for the film.
