How much tax is deducted on the prize money of KBC contestants?
According to the report, 30% income tax is deducted from any contestant who wins 1 crore in KBC. The money that is left after this is given to the contestants. After all this, the contestant is given Rs 70 lakh in prize money. Apart from this, the contestant also has to pay a surcharge which is 10% of TDS, which means that the cess tax of 4% of the contestant’s 33 lakhs is deducted, which is 1 lakh 32 thousand rupees.
