Talking about the story of the film Kanjus Makkhichus, the film begins with Jamuna Prasad Pandey (Kunal Khemu) living in Lucknow. Jamuna Prasad is a very miserly person. He also has a puja shop in Lucknow. So every morning after going to the shop, Jamuna Prasad lights an incense stick. But immediately after worshiping God, Jamuna Prasad extinguishes that incense stick and thus he worships with the same incense stick for many days.
However, a noble motive is hidden behind Jamuna Prasad’s miserliness. Jamuna is saving money to take her father Ganga and mother Saraswati on a pilgrimage. In such a situation, somehow collecting money, Jamuna sends her parents on a pilgrimage to Kedarnath. But due to floods in 2013, his parents go missing.
Unable to find his missing parents, Jamuna Prasad accepts their death and also takes compensation from the government. Everything is going well in Jamuna Prasad’s life.
