Lyricist and scriptwriter Javed Akhtar has been honored with the honorary degree for his creative work as a prolific writer and his dedication to social justice as an activist. Let it be known that Javed Akhtar was honored with the honorary degree of ‘Doctor of Literature’ in a ceremony organized at the School of Oriental and Africa Studies (SOS), University of London on Thursday, 7 September.
Along with Dr. Akhtar, his wife actress Shabana Azmi and son Farhan Akhtar were also present in this honor ceremony. SOS has written in the appreciation letter, “Indian cinema and literature legend Javed Akhtar has great influence in terms of writing, activism and leadership.”
