Mumbai: TV queen Ekta Kapoor has been announced for the 2023 International Emmy Directorate Award. Bruce L. Paisner, President and CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, made this announcement. Ekta is the first Indian film maker to win this award. The International Academy’s Special Emmy will be presented to Ekta Kapoor at the 51st International Emmy Awards Gala on Monday, November 20, 2023 in New York City.
Announcing Ekta Kapoor’s name for this award, Bruce L Paisner said, ‘Ekta Kapoor has made Balaji one of India’s number one platforms in the television content industry. He is credited with reinventing Indian TV and starting India’s satellite television boom. Under the Balaji banner, he has produced over 17,000 hours of television and 45 films.

Ekta Kapoor has also expressed her gratitude for this award on her Instagram. She shared a long post and said that she felt blessed to receive this honour.
