Not only this, while referring to Sita-Ram, the famous lyricist said, ‘Ram and Sita are not the only Hindu gods and goddesses. This is the cultural heritage of India. Even though I am an atheist, I still consider Ram and Sita as the property of this country, that is why I have come here. I am proud of the fact that I was born on the land of Ram and Sita, when we talk about Maryada Purushottam, only Ram and Sita come to mind. Ramayana is our cultural heritage. Remembered the old days (Javed Akhtar On Hindu Culture)
While narrating an old incident on sloganeering of Siya Ram, Javed Saheb said, ‘I am from Lucknow. In my childhood, I used to see people saying good morning, but a common man passing by on the road would say, ‘Jai Siya Ram’. The word Siya Ram is a symbol of love and unity. Therefore it is a sin to think of Sita and Ram separately. Only one separated Siya and Ram. His name was Ravana. So the one who will separate will be Ravana.
