Mumbai : The controversy over the disturbance at the concert of music director AR Rahman on September 10 in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, is not stopping. Some women have alleged sexual harassment and molestation in the chaos that broke out at the concert. Women shared their bad experiences through their social media. Now singer Chinmayi Sripaada has come out in support of the women victims of the disturbance at AR Rahman’s concert.
Chinmayi Sripada has written a long note on her X account (Twitter handle). She wrote, “To the girls whose trauma I share – a key memory, as my body keeps score: It’s not your shame. It is not your fault. A stroke that doesn’t scratch, doesn’t rub, doesn’t wash. You didn’t deserve this. You deserved music, you deserved entertainment, you deserved happiness, you deserved a concert experience that made you cry.

Chinmayi Sripada further wrote, “I wish that you should not have to go through sexual harassment, but you have done so and I wish that such an experience should never happen to anyone, this wish should not be fulfilled. I wish only love and healing – and hope a loved one will be there to hold your hand. Now… you are fearless dingbats who are gaslighting those who speak out about their sexual harassment.”
