Army gave information
Speaking on the matter, Lt Col Mahendra Rawat, PRO Defence, Guwahati, said, “A loss of contact was received from ATC at around 09:15 am today morning of an Army Aviation Cheetah helicopter in an operational sortie near Bomdila, Arunachal Pradesh. At the same time, it is reported to have crashed near Mandla, west of Bomdila. We have launched our search teams.”
According to the information received, officers of the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and Major were on board. A search operation is underway. The Army said that the chopper had taken off from Bomdial. The helicopter lost contact with the Air Traffic Control (ATC) at 9:15 am.
