The admission process for Delhi University’s undergraduate courses is likely to be delayed by at least a week. reason behind it CUET-UG The schedule has to increase. In fact, due to technical glitches at many exam centers last week, the exams had to be canceled. Due to this the CUET-UG schedule has to be increased. The Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG was supposed to end by August 20, but now it will end by August 28. This year, admission to all undergraduate courses of universities will be done through CUET.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday announced that the exams, which were canceled last week, will now be held from August 24 to 28. New admit cards will also be issued for these exams. A senior Delhi University official said, “The admission process is expected to extend by a week due to the reschedulement of CUET. The entire admission process will take one month. He said, ‘The admission process is now expected to be completed by the end of September. Classes for first year students may start in the first or second week of October.
Admission in Delhi University will be done in three phases
“Earlier the university was planning to start classes by the end of September,” the official added. The admission process is expected to start after this month, as Dean of Admissions Hanit Gandhi said that the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal will be open for candidates to fill applications till the third week of August. Admission through CSAS will be conducted in three phases. This includes submission of CSAS 2022 application form, selection of undergraduate program and filling of preference and seat allotment and admission.
CUET score will be required in the second phase itself. The second phase of the admission process can start only after the declaration of the CUET (UG) 2022 result. The candidate has to choose the program in which he/she wants to take admission. They have to confirm the program specific CUET (UG) merit score for all the selected programmes. In the third phase, the seats will be allotted through the merit list. This is the first time that Delhi University has conducted entrance exams for admission to undergraduate courses. Earlier the admission was done on the basis of merit.
