Jharkhand SOE Admission 2023: School of Excellence (SOE) is being run by the state government in Jharkhand. There are a total of 12000 seats in these schools, on which 30000 applications have been received so far for admission. On the other hand, after the demand of the parents, the date of registration has been extended till May 25, 2023. In such a situation, the total number of applications received till the last date is likely to go up to 50 thousand.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren inaugurated 80 government schools on May 2 to provide quality education in English medium. According to the report of the Indian Express, an official said on Thursday that so far 30,000 applications have been received for admission in 80 schools of excellence with 12,000 seats run by the Jharkhand government.

The official said that against the total 12,146 seats available for admission to the School of Excellence (SOE), around 30,000 applications have been received across the state by the school management till May 17. The official said that the number of applications is 246 percent more than the total seats. Maximum applications have been received from Deoghar 3,247, Lohardaga 2,254, Giridih 1,708, Palamu 2,322 and Ramgarh 1,489.
Extended last date of application
In view of the demand of the parents, the last date of registration for admission in the Schools of Excellence (SOE) has been extended till May 25, 2023. Earlier, the government had fixed the date of application as May 15. The selection test will be conducted on May 30, while the first merit list will be released on June 7, on which admissions will start from June 12.
What is SOE school?
80 district-level schools of excellence have been opened in the state. This is part of the government’s plan to provide quality education to 15 lakh school children studying in government schools. The second phase of which includes plans to set up 325 block level schools and 4,091 gram panchayat level model schools across the state.
On behalf of the National Center for School Leadership, online training has been given to the principals of these 80 excellent schools in two phases. On the other hand, the training of principals has been completed in two phases by Azim Premji Foundation. He was also trained by IIM in January.
Students will get training for 11 trades
The government had earlier announced that all students of these 80 excellence schools would be given vocational training for 11 trades. These include agriculture, IT, ITES, apparel and makeup and home furnishing, media and entertainment, automotive, tourism, beauty and wellness, multi-skills, electronics, hardware, retail and healthcare.
