NIRF Ranking 2023: This time, for the first time, institutes which have given excellent performance in innovation have got a place in NIRF. In the past years, NIRF ranking has not been issued in this category. in the innovation category IIT Kanpur has won. IIT Madras has secured the second position and IIT Hyderabad has secured the third position. IIT-BHU is at number 10 in this list.
The Government of India has placed a lot of emphasis on innovation in recent years. For this, several schemes are also being made available by UGC, All India Council for Technical Education, Science and Technology Department and many other central institutions to bring government and private institutions forward.

Innovation Category introduced for the first time
Since this category has been introduced for the first time, only ten institutions have been included in the list. Apart from IIT Kanpur, Madras, Hyderabad, Delhi, Roorkee, Mumbai, IISc Bangalore is also there, which has got the sixth position in innovation. An NIT, Calicut and an Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kanchipuram have also managed to make it to the list.
The top IIT, Kanpur in this list has worked on many innovative projects with the Government of India. To protect against infection, the bandage made by this institute was included in the top 10 innovations by London magazine.
This institute has made a biodegradable nanoparticle, which can be used to protect crops from fungal infection. More than 40 companies are working in different fields of cyber security. Work is also being done on the security of degree-marksheet through block chain.
