After the result, lakhs of qualified students are now waiting for JEE Main Counseling 2022. This counseling will be conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority i.e. JoSAA. JEE Main counseling schedule 2022 is going to be released by Josaa soon on the official website josaa.nic.in. This is not a time to waste. In this time, you should complete the preparations for JEE Mains Counseling 2022. The first step in the JEE counseling process is to collect the required documents.
What is JoSAA Counseling Process?
First of all, understand that what is the process of JoSAA counseling for admission in other engineering colleges including NIT? Here is the step by step process –
- online registration
- Online Choice Filling and Choice Locking
- seat allotment
- Seat freeze, float and slide options
- document verification
- Reporting and Admission in the allotted institute
Documents Required for JEE Counseling
- JEE Main 2022 Admit Card
- JEE Mains 2022 Score Card
- 12th mark sheet
- Birth Certificate / Birth Certificate (It requires 10th mark sheet. But if you don’t have birth certificate, get it done. Institutions can also demand it.)
- photo id proof
- 3 passport size photographs
- Caste Certificate or Disability Certificate / Category Certificate
Apart from these 7 documents, save and print the proof of the fee you will have paid for accepting the allotted seat during JEE Main counselling. This will come in handy during further verification.

When will JEE Mains Counseling 2022 Registration be done?
The link for JEE Mains Counseling 2022 registration will also be released along with the JoSAA 2022 schedule. You have to register online at josaa.nic.in by filling your name, email, mobile number and other basic details. In this, your JEE Main application number may also be asked for.
After the registration is complete, a new username and password will be generated. Keep it handy. Because during the entire counseling process, you will have to log-in through it and complete other procedures including choice filling, locking, seat acceptance.
It is worth noting that JEE Main Result 2022 has been released. Counseling will be done on the score of JEE Main. Apart from this, students coming in the top 2.5 lakh ranks in Mains will be able to give JEE Advanced 2022. This exam is going to be held on 28 August 2022.
