NCERT Textbook: On the recent changes made by NCERT in the books, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that no changes have been made in the books. He said that there is a controversy going on these days that Darwin’s theory of evolution has been removed from the science books by NCERT and the periodic table has been thrown out, but I would like to publicly state here that something like this Neither has happened.
Union Education Minister said these things on Tuesday during a program organized at Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute in Pune city of Maharashtra. He said that details were sought from the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in this regard. According to him, experts had advised that some repetitive parts could be reduced during COVID-19 and brought back later.

Hence the content of classes 8 and 9 remains unchanged. Last year, some part related to the theory of development was removed in the 10th book. No change has been made in 11th and 12th. The periodic table was taught in class 9th. Now it will be taught in class 11 and 12.
According to NCERT one or two examples (related to the theory of evolution) were omitted, but I want to assure you that the National Education Policy is being implemented and new textbooks are being prepared according to that policy.
Let us tell you that recently NCERT has made many changes in the books of class 10th, under which many changes have been made in the books of class 10th and class 9th. New courses have also been added to the books of these classes. Periodic table chapter has been removed from 10th. Now it has been added in 11th and 12th.
