Recently many students of government schools have got admission in IIT Madras, that too without giving JEE Mains/ Advanced. About 15,000 students from across the country have got admission in the B.Sc Data Science course of IIT Madras. Most of them are from Tamil Nadu. Maharashtra is at number two and Uttar Pradesh is at third. At the same time, there are 87 students from Tamil Nadu who are from government schools in the state. The institute says that further efforts will be made to provide quality education to more and more students, in this the socio-economic status will not be seen.
