Think how it would be, you would not have to go bar hopping for a Friday night party and the party with your colleagues could be held in the office building itself. If your office is in Gurugram or Faridabad, then this is possible. The Haryana government has taken such a decision that now it will be easier to serve ‘beer’ and ‘wine’ in the office itself.
Actually Haryana government has changed its excise policy. Accordingly, now big offices or corporate houses in the state will be able to sell low-content alcoholic drinks like beer, wine in their own premises. Not only this, they will also have the freedom to sell ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages.
Drinks will be served only in these offices
In the Haryana Excise Policy 2023-24, the government has planned to give license to serve liquor to those corporate offices which have an office spread over at least one lakh square feet in the same building or premises and employ about 5,000 employees.
Cities like Gurugram, Manesar and Faridabad are going to be greatly benefited by this decision of the government, where many corporate and multinational companies have offices. Offices can own or lease 1 lakh square feet of space.
Liquor traders will benefit
Liquor companies have welcomed this decision of the government. She is calling it a decision that will bring a big change in the consumption of liquor in the state, especially Gurugram. The duty on ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages like mild beer, beer and wine has been reduced in the new policy.
Along with this, bar license fees for restaurants, pubs and cafes have also been reduced. In this regard, Rahul Singh, the founder of Beer Cafe, says that reducing the annual license fee will help the restaurant, bar and pub industry to bounce back.
