Twitter has fired most of its employees in India as part of a plan to reduce the workforce globally. Prior to this layoff, the company had more than 200 employees working in India. The world’s richest businessman Elon Musk last week Twitter Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Parag Agarwal as well as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and some other top officials were fired. He has already laid off half of Twitter’s 7500 employees.
An employee of Twitter India said on the condition of anonymity, ‘The layoffs have started. Many of my colleagues have received emails in this regard. Another source said that the Twitter team present in India is going to see a big impact of the layoffs. However, the full details of the layoffs have not come out yet. At the same time, when Twitter was asked in this regard, it did not give any answer.
Activists blamed for Twitter’s losses
At the same time, Elon Musk has blamed the activist for the decrease in the company’s income. He tweeted, “The activist group put tremendous pressure on advertisers, causing a huge reduction in Twitter’s revenue. Even monitoring the content didn’t change anything. We did everything to make the activists themselves. They are trying to crush the freedom of expression in America. He did this soon after he acquired Twitter for $44 billion. Meanwhile, many of the top management have resigned.

Elon Musk has now started massive layoffs to reduce the company’s global workforce. Sources said there have been layoffs in engineering, sales and marketing and communication teams. However, it is not yet clear how much has been paid as compensation to the fired workers in India.
Sources said the entire marketing and communication department in India has been sacked. Even before Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, there was talk that he would cut the number of employees at the social media company. In some reports, it has even been said that he will reduce the number of employees by up to 75 percent.
