The poor are paying more GST than the rich, this is how the rich are benefiting

The difference between the rich and the poor in India is clearly evident from the report of Oxfam India. According to the report, the gap between the rich and the poor is increasing rapidly in India. The amount of money that the billionaires have in India, hardly a fraction of that will be with the poor. But still the poor are paying more GST than the rich. Yes, the figures of Oxfam’s report ‘Survival of Richest India Story’ are very shocking.

According to the report, the poor 50% pay 64% more GST than the rich. The government imposes more taxes on the poor than on the rich. However, there has been a record breaking GST collection in the country in the month of March. Most of it belongs to the poor or the common man.

So much collection happened in March this year

There has been a record breaking GST collection in March this year. In the month of March, the total GST collection has been recorded at Rs 29,546 crore and CGST, Rs 37,314 crore and SGST Rs 82,907 crore. This GST collection includes IGST deposited from the import of Rs 42,503 crore. At the same time, a cess of Rs 10,355 crore is also included.

1% billionaires have 40% wealth of the country

Tell me, 1% billionaires live in the country. These billionaires have 60 percent of the country’s wealth. At the same time, 3 percent of the country’s wealth is with 50 percent of the people. But still, in 2021-22, most of the 64% of GST has been collected from the common man and the poor. At the same time, 3% GST has been collected from 10% of the rich.
