According to the information, this decision of the Union Health Ministry will greatly benefit the family of the organ donor. For example, if you have donated organs in your life and no one in your family is aware of it, then it can be found out through Aadhaar card. According to sources in the Union Health Ministry, organ donation is being linked to Aadhaar.
Why is this important?
It has been found that many times a person donates his organ, but his family members do not come to know about it. In such a situation, if a person dies in a hospital, the hospital administration can check his Aadhar card to find out whether he has donated his organs or not. If he has filled up the organ donation form, it means that his wish can be fulfilled even after his death. Because many times after death, the family members absolutely refuse to donate any body part of the person who has died.
Organ donation campaign on Prime Minister’s birthday
On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, many types of campaigns were run, which also included organ donation. 700000 people have registered themselves under Seva Pakhwada. Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya has also registered for organ donation. Out of the total organ donation taking place in the country, only three percent of the demands are being fulfilled.
