Chhattisgarh’s new government will be ‘crorepati’

The new BJP government formed here will be a ‘crorepati’ government, because most of the MLAs who won on the party ticket are owners of properties worth crores. Not only the new government of Chhattisgarh, but the entire assembly will also be full of millionaires.
Out of the newly elected 90 MLAs of Chhattisgarh, 72 are crorepatis. In this way, 80 percent of the MLAs of the assembly will be crorepatis. Whereas in the previous assembly the number of crorepati MLAs was only 68.
Government will also be ‘crorepati’
If we talk about the new government to be formed in Chhattisgarh, it will also be 80% millionaire. According to the reports of ‘Association for Democratic Reforms’ (ADR) and ‘Chhattisgarh Election Watch’, NGOs working for election reforms, BJP is going to return to power in the state. 54 MLAs of the party have registered victory, out of which 43 MLAs have assets worth crores. This is also 80% of the total MLAs of BJP.

Whereas out of 35 Congress MLAs, 29 are crorepatis, which is 83 percent of its victorious MLAs. In the last elections, Congress had won 68 seats. This time it has got only 35 seats. Another political party from the state, Gondwana Gantantra Party (GGP) has won a seat for the first time.
These are the top-3 crorepati MLAs
According to the report, the overall average assets of the MLAs who won the Chhattisgarh Assembly elections 2023 is Rs 5.25 crore. Whereas the average assets of the MLAs who won the 2018 elections were Rs 11.63 crore. Bhavan Bohra (Pandariya seat), who reached the assembly for the first time on BJP ticket, is the richest MLA of the state. His assets are worth Rs 33.86 crore.
After him, outgoing Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel (Patan) is at second place with assets worth Rs 33.38 crore. BJP’s Amar Aggarwal (Bilaspur) is at third place in this list with assets worth Rs 27 crore.
These MLAs have the least assets
The names of the three MLAs with the least assets have also been mentioned in the ADR report. According to this, the assets of Congress MLA Ramkumar Yadav (Chandrapur) are only Rs 10 lakh, the assets of BJP’s Ramkumar Toppo (Sitapur) are Rs 13.12 lakh and the assets of Gomti Sai (Pathalgaon) are Rs 15.47 lakh. Ramkumar Yadav has the least assets among all the 90 MLAs and he has reached the assembly for the second time.
