New Delhi: Terrorists can attack in Delhi on the occasion of Republic Day. The Intelligence Bureau (IB) has given inputs to the Delhi Police about the possibility of a terrorist attack on Republic Day. According to this input, there are indications of targeting some VIPs including terrorist leaders on the occasion of Republic Day.
According to the input of IB intelligence, the banned Khalistani organization Sikh for Justice is in the process of carrying out a terrorist attack on Republic Day. Organizations can attack around India Gate and Red Fort by placing explosives in the car. It has also been said in the input that Sikhs for Justice may repeat the incident of hoisting the religious flag at Red Fort like last year.
Intelligence Bureau claims that terrorists have brought explosives from Pakistan to India. The IED found in Ghazipur Mandi was part of it. The way the Jammu airport was attacked with a drone, on the same lines terrorists can attack with a drone. Drones are being said to attack the parade route or behind it.
Following the intelligence alert, Delhi Police has declared the capital an anti-drone zone from January 20. Under this, drones, para gliders, UAVs, small micro aircraft, air balloons will be banned in Delhi. Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana said that the anti-drone system in Delhi will remain in force till February 15.
With the SWOT team being active, the Delhi Police has ordered to increase the investigation along with patrolling on the border area. At the same time, security has also been increased at India Gate and crowded areas. Mobile Police Control Room Van will also be used for security arrangements. Immediate action will be taken after identifying the suspects.
